René Descartes is a new screamo band based out of San Francisco, CA. This band contains members of twinkly screamo band "Flowers Taped to Pens/Meryl Streaker" and Anarcho screamo band "All My Wishes Were Thrown Down A Well And Should Die There". As of now they only have two phone recordings from practice but a real demo is on the way. Give it a listen if you enjoy energetic screamo with dashes of twinkle and heavier riffs as well.

Cry, The Monarch is a 3 piece screamo band from CA. The bring a mixture of post rock elements and driving screamo that combine to make a rich listening experience. their new EP "If I Give Up" delivers a dose of heavy somber atmosphere complimented by a contrast between heavily distorted active sections and softer instrumental sections into a crescendo leading to a satisfying explosion.

I highly recommend this album to those looking for a mix of chaos and somber sound.

The self titled debut of this 4 piece twinkly emo band from san jose. This album brings a upbeat ride starting with a dreamy intro and quickly diving into a driving second track with chorus vocals and good vibes, the rest of the album consists of twist and turns from the poppy twinkles with vocal reminiscent of Algernon Cadwallader we all love and more dynamic crashing sections accompanied by strained vocals/screams and everything in between.

Fist Benders is a emo band from Lake Elsinore, CA and is almost single handedly responsible for re-sparking my interest in "twinkly" emo. This band brings an atmosphere that is so dreamy yet distressed with all the guitar harmonics and arpeggios you could ever want complimented by a range of soft and coarse vocals that will wrap you up and not let you go. You'll find tracks like "Understanding" and "Run Everyday" stuck in your head all day and you won't be upset about it. This is definitely one of my favorite releases of 2015 so far and i highly recommend you check it out.

This is a brilliant twinkly track that starts off with a dreamy atmosphere accompanied with calm vocals and progresses to a faster infectious section with dual vocals that lead to crashing group vocal section and finally a energetic finale with a more screamy vocal aspect. AMWWTDAWASDT is a Anarcho screamo band from San Diego, CA. They combine crunchy guitar with screaming politically charged lyrics/vocals that bring to mind older bands like Louis Cypher, Kodan Armada, etc. With songs ranging from energetic romps like "Estropie" to calmer reflective songs like "Armada". This release is solid, thou containing some lack luster songs. Despite that I still recommend this album to any fans of older screamo.

Shizune is a screamo band from Lonigo, Italy that has been crafting amazing releases since 2012. Their newest release "Le Voyageur Imprudent" is a 10 song masterpiece filled with driving and beautiful tracks that will grab you and not let go.

the strained screams over amazingly orchestrated instrumentals create an atmosphere that will keep you going from start to finish. With songs ranging from crashing rides like "Sputnik! nostalgia" and multi faceted tracks like "Difficile da capire, impossibile da spiegare" to a beautiful instrumental break "Orienteering in Aokigahara青木ヶ原" this is definitely one of the best records of 2015 so far.

Acoustic twinkly emo isn't something you here all the time so this is an interesting listen right off the back (thou it doesn't sound like its all acoustic and contains artifical elements in certain songs). Unfortunately interesting doesn't always equal a good listen but i will go into that later, good things first. This album creates a slow dreamy atmosphere ( exception being part 2, but even that is mellow) and the almost ambient sound really creates a calm enviorment that i enjoy including soft vocals. My gripe with this release is it does get a tad bit boring thou after a while, it has my attention for a little bit but i quickly found myself slightly bored. There are changes song to song but not enough to respark my interest (part 2 is a good effort with a more upbeat sound that comes as a good re-energizer but just doesn't quite have enough). Even thou there are negative aspects its not a bad release if you are into something calm and tired of hearing the same old twinkly bands or soft spoken acoustic or ambient acts. There is a physical release through Little League Records if you are interested as well.

Father Figure is a twinky screamo band from Denton TX. This band creates the perfect combination of light hearted twinkle with passionate screams and high pitched shrieks. the Lyric content is confessional and the vocals really reflect and convey the emotion in a prefect way. This band shares members with the infamous Two Knights, but in my opinon this band is far better. highly recommended everything they have released.
